As I finished the last few precious chapters of a Jane Austen novel, I decided to indulge Austin in his desire to play with my pots and pans. Well, he was having a blast clanging pots and lids, making all kinds of racket, when finally I felt I should check on him. While I was reading about the scandals happening at Mansfield Park, Austin was having his own adventures. What a crazy kid!
I took a quick tally of Austin's vocabulary, and he is up to about 25 words. He is saying new words literally every day. Last night, he surprised me by asking for more and using the sign language for it. Tonight, he wanted to hold Joseph's hand during the dinner prayer. These are precious times.
By the way, I will be starting a new job on July 1st which will allow me to spend more time at home with Austin. I'll be a secretary at a law office located within walking distance of my home. We are very excited about the change. Joseph will get more sleep. Austin will get more Mommy time. And I will actually be able to utilize Austin's naps. Presently, he always sleeps while I work, so I never get a break to do housework. All around it is a win win situation. 2 half days per week are much better than 5.
