For those of you who have never heard of Reformation Day, it is an actual holiday that just happens to fall on October 31st (Halloween). It is the day that Martin Luther, the famous theologian, nailed his 95 theses on the door of a prominent Roman Catholic church building, thereby starting the Protestant Reformation. At Auburndale Baptist Church, we celebrate this day by having a party for the kids to learn about the Reformation and to create an alternative to Halloween. Some of the adults in the church dress up like Reformation characters, and the kids dress up like princesses, superheroes or other fun and harmless characters. Since Joseph grew up on comic books and superhereos, Austin was the Incredible Hulk. If he were a little bit older, we would have painted him green, but we settled for Hulk pjs and crazy hair.
