Funny Words of Austin

Austin is talking a lot these days. I thought I would share some of the funny things that he says.

He counts like this "5-8-5-8-5-8." We have no idea where he came up with these numbers. He must have heard them somewhere. I think he said yesterday they had something to do with Papa and his "talk" (telephone). Maybe it is his pretend phone number.

When we go places, he can be a persistent backseat driver. He is always saying, "Other way!!" He does this when we are shopping too. He is pretty demanding about it at times. At least he is not afraid to express his opinion about where we are headed.

A few weeks ago, I started hearing him say "happy" but I wasn't sure what he meant by it. Then I started noticing that he used it when he was talking about his toy dog. He calls it "happy dog." I'm not sure if that is the dog's name, though, because he points to characters in books and says "happy" sometimes. Who knows.

Austin is learning his shapes. He knows his circles and hearts, and he is working on triangles and squares. I'm so proud of him! We color several times a day and do puzzles as well. I'm really enjoying his interest in these educational activities. He loves books, too. His favorite series is Pooh. He knows all the names of the characters.

Austin and I watched The Incredibles yesterday afternoon. When it was over, Austin ran around the apartment like crazy. I think he was pretending to be Flash.
