A Little Fresh Air

Austin has strep throat again, so we have been homebound all week. He was still too sick for church this morning, but I thought he needed some sunshine and fresh air, so we took a walk to the park this afternoon. He was feeling pretty puny at first, but I think the fresh air did wonders for his disposition. This evening, he seems to be feeling more like himself. On the way to the park, we saw a train. Austin loves it when we get to watch a train on our walks. We always stop so he can see the whole thing go by. He's even got a little snack to eat while he enjoys the show.
Riding a Horsey at the Park. Still looking a little sickly, don't you think?

Austin was feeling pretty good at this point. Below is a typical video of Austin playing.... until the end when a bumblebee crashes into my head. Notice after I recover from the encounter that Austin pretends to be bothered by a bee as well. He was amused by the whole thing and proceeded to tease me about bees for several minutes afterward.

Our child is fearless. The last time we visited this park, Austin discovered this climbing thing on the big kid part of the playground. Of course, he went straight for it despite my nervousness. While I stand below with my stomach in my throat, Austin climbs up without a care in the world. He has climbed this thing at least half a dozen times already. It is his favorite part of the playground. Note: I climbed up it once just to see what it was like, and it made me very nervous. Like I said, Austin is fearless.

A picture of him at the top... just to prove that he did make it all by himself. I've given up on trying to help him. He insists that "Austie will do it." Such a brave boy.
