Austin's Outside Adventure

Austin and I took a three hour adventure around the neighborhood yesterday. First, we went to the library to look at books. Then, we went to a local park to play. While we were there, we decided to go to the seminary to see Joseph.

So, we played at the seminary for about an hour waiting for Joseph to get out of class. However, I soon realized that I had left my cell phone at home. So, we looked for Joseph and we used a campus phone to call him. No answer. Bummer. So, we walked around some more and started looking for the car. Joseph had driven it, and we were secretly hoping for a ride home in it. No sign of the car. Bummer. So, we headed for Adam and Neil's apartment. We called Joseph again. No answer... By this time, Austin is having a drop down temper tantrum in our hand-me-down umbrella stroller.

So, we wait for a few minutes at Adam's empty apartment. Then, we start back for campus. And we find Mr. Winters himself headed for his home. We explain the situation and he calls Joseph again using his cell phone. Adam said he hadn't seen Joseph since lunch... No answer... Bummer... At this point, I decide to walk home, though I wasn't sure Austin was going to make it another twenty minutes in the stroller.

As we are walking home, I think... Why won't he answer his phone... Why couldn't I find the car... Boy my legs are getting tired... I wasn't anticipating this much exercise, just a little walk... Then it happens, we start down the driveway and see the car parked right next to the truck. We walk up the stairs and see Joseph's backpack next to the door, his cell phone buzzing to signal a missed call. We walk into the bedroom and find Joseph sound asleep in the bed. He had come home after lunch and gone straight to bed, skipping his class because he was sick... We had been waiting outside his class for an hour, and he wasn't even there! What a terrible misunderstanding... Needless to say, we won't be paying him any surprise visits to the seminary anymore. We will make very clear arrangements beforehand.

Late last night, Joseph tells me this to top off the whole story... He had actually seen me walking on his way home, but he passed me too quickly to wave or honk. He had no idea that I would be going to the seminary to look for him. What a day! On the bright side, I did get some exercise and it was an absolutely beautiful day. Hope you enjoy the pictures and my amusing story.
